DetailsExtension · Migration
Two tools for moving servers: the Migration Tool imports accounts from other control panels, ISPCopy moves an ISPConfig installation to new hardware as it is.
Imports data from ISPConfig 2 and 3.x, Plesk 10 – 12.5, Plesk Onyx, cPanel (beta) and Confixx 3 into a new ISPConfig 3, 3.1, 3.2 or 3.3 single or multiserver installation. Also merges several standalone servers into one new setup.
Copies an ISPConfig installation including the configuration of Apache, nginx, Postfix, Amavis, Dovecot and PureFTPd to a new server over SSH. Moves a Service Node without disconnecting it from its Management Server, or the Management Server without disconnecting its Service Nodes.
The Migration Tool reads the control panel database of the source server and creates the corresponding accounts on the target ISPConfig server through the ISPConfig remote API.
During migration, it copies all files of the migrated accounts: websites, email and databases. It replaces the old website paths and IP addresses in all website files with the new ones.
Passwords and account names are kept. You can reserve names for clients, FTP accounts and other accounts, for example when you merge several servers into one. Conflicting accounts from the source server get a prefix or a suffix like _1, _2. Every change is written to migrate.log.

Copy the archive to the source server and extract it, for example to /root/migration. Then start the importer. It tells you what to configure on the source and target system during the run.
/root/migration/migrate
By default, accounts are identified by username: an existing FTP account myftpuser on the target is overwritten by an account with the same name from the source. Reserve names to have the imported account renamed to myftpuser_2 instead, or run the importer with --server-prefix. All arguments are explained in the README inside the archive.
Both servers must run the same operating system (Debian, Ubuntu or CentOS) with the same services installed. ISPConfig on the target is optional, the tool moves the installation. The source needs enough free space to dump the largest MySQL database.
cd isp_copy ./isp_copy
ISPCopy creates a key based SSH login from source to target if none exists. After the copy, run an ISPConfig update on the target with reconfigure services set to yes.
The license key is valid for one year and can be used on up to 10 source servers, any number of times. The license period starts with the first use of the key. All updates released during the license period are included. The key may only be used by the buyer, a person or company, and must not be shared.
If you run into problems, contact support with the complete error message and attach migrate.log.
